The Joys of a One-Year-Old

Yup, he's mobile. Very much so. Yup, he's determined. Yup, he thinks he's as big as everyone else. And he has mastered the temper tantrum. Legs kicking and everything. It's really quite a sight to see since he is still so darn tiny and he is laying on the floor kicking and screeching at the top of his lungs. All for some imagined fault like some bigger person took away a Lego he could choke on or moved him out of the dishwasher or took him back off the stairs and locked the gate. One of these days we will manage to convince him that he really does have a good life. I mean, who can argue with an endless supply of string cheese and grahm crackers and juice and lots of big people around to carry you and take care of you. And he is the only person in the house to have their own bedroom. Granted, he is much too young to realize how lucky he is in that regard and I suppose when you share a bedroom with piles of laundry waiting to be folded it's not quite the same as truly having your own room. Yup, we have another full fledged fit in progress now because his sister walked by him without giving him a wooden train to play with. My, his life is so rough.

And he can fit in a drawer. What could be better?
